Newly Remodeled Doll House Kitchen

I've finally made progress on the large dollhouse.  This is the kitchen.  It's finished except for one window frame.  Sophie is enjoying a beverage at the new table.  The cabinets and appliances are vintage Sindy models.  I papered and painted the walls, put vinyl on the floor and painted a fridge so it color coordinates.  There are more photos on my blog, and if you click the dollhouse category you can see the before pictures.  It was definitely a project.  Now moving on to the other rooms.

Meet Clawdia Wolf From Monster High

Clawdia Wolf is big sis to Clawd, Clawdeen, and Howleen.  She loves her little wolfling siblings.  She stars in a new television special Frights Camera Action! to be released soon.  I was Christmas shopping earlier this week and Clawdia jumped right into my cart and came home with me.  I adore her glowing golden mane and sparkly smile.  She's a literature geek and a professional screen writer in Hauntlywood.  I took lots of pictures of her for my Monster High School blog.  Click the link below and read all about my new favorite Wolf member.

Deuce Gorgon From Scaris Is In The House

Here's a quick blog post about my Deuce Gorgon Monster High doll. Click on the link below to read why I love him.  In the photo above he and Clawd Wolf are cooking up some frighteningly good grub to eat while they discuss the latest Monster High news.  I just love Monster High dolls.  Wish I could afford them all.

Emily the Strange Doll

Emily the Strange was originally a graphic sticker created for a line of skateboards.  But immediately she formed a persona of her own and morphed into a counter culture icon.  She's a thirteen year old girl who wears the same black dress every day and has four black cats as best friends.  Her wit is sharp as a tack and she's got a brooding demeanor.  Sounds like a few 13 year old girls I know.  The Emily the Strange doll from Ashton Drake Galleries caught my eye and I had to have her.

My Handmade Dollhouse Kitchen Cabinets

I made this kitchen counter and appliance unit from 2 Kidkraft dollhouse kitchen cabinets.  It took a bit of trial and error and a lot of gluing, sanding, and painting but I'm happy with the result.  I needed it to be compact to fit in the small beach cottage dollhouse so this combines a sink, stovetop, fridge, cabinet and drawer all on one wall.  I'm inspired to try to make a piece of doll furniture on my own now.  You can read about my steps (and mistakes) on my Diary of a Dollhouse blog.
