Sofia The First Disney Princess Dress Up Costumes

If you're loving the Disney Junior television series Sofia the First as much as we are you'll probably recognize lots of little Disney Princesses dressed in purple gowns this Halloween.  Sofia the First is one of the most popular cartoons in 2013 and little girls love her.  Little boys too, my grandson and I watch the show every week.

There are a few different choices for Sophia costumes and you can find them online so shopping is easy and quick.  The best part about Disney Princess costumes is that your little girl can play princess dress-up for months to come in this lavish gown, sparkly tiara and big purple amulet necklace.  Who knows, you may even hear her talking to the animals because of the amulet's magical power.  Read more about the new Princess Sofia the First on my blog.

Discontinued Hasbro Littlest Pet Shop Blythe Dolls

I'm still on the lookout for the now defunct Littlest Pet Shop Blythe dolls.  Technically there is a new version but she's all molded plastic.  I'm collecting the older versions with rooted hair and eyelashes like the ones in my picture.  I have about 20 of the 50+ that were made.  A few have been spotted at Marshalls, Tuesday Morning, and Toys R Us but they are all the same 3 or 4 models that I already have.  Mostly Cold Weather Cute, Buckles n Bows, Autumn Glam, and Pinwheels n Daisies.  I suppose I'll be buying on eBay or Amazon from now on as I think the store stock has been pretty much depleted.  They were so cute, wish Hasbro had produced them a while longer.

Need To Carry Your Monster High Ghouls Around? Check Out This Doll Case

I picked this case up today at Walmart and love it.  It's quite sturdy and has creepy cool graphics.  The blue transparent chain handle and zipper on the front look Frankie-ish.  It has space to hold 3 dolls in elastic but there's plenty of room to stash other stuff too.  The description on Amazon says it holds 8 dolls, not too sure about that, but it is very roomy.  Made by Tara Toys and sells for a very reasonable price.  Great birthday or Christmas gift for a Monster High Fan.

Fortune Cookie Advice For The Day

I don't really have any other fortune telling units.  But this seems like reasonable advice to me. What do you think?

Lego Duplo Bricks For Toy Story Fans

I went to Downtown Disney today looking for dolls and of course I couldn't resist slipping into the Lego building.  I had forgotten how much fun it is. Made a mental note to take the grandkids out there in the next couple of weeks.  Not too many tourists right now.  There are so many fun things for kids to do inside.  Lots of creativity centers.

This Buzz and Woody Lego out front reminded me how much fun they have with Toy Story Duplo sets.  Even the 6 year old still gets them out and builds his own versions of scenes from the movie, and then goes on to create his own endings.  There are a bunch of different sets to choose from.  We have several.  See if there is one for a kid on your gift list.

Disney Frozen Princess Elsa and Anna Costumes

I can't wait until the new Disney animated Frozen movie comes out this Thanksgiving.  It's based on the Snow Queen story by Hans Christian Andersen.  Of course Disney is pulling out all the stops for merchandising in advance. The Princess Elsa and Anna costumes are now available and they are some of the most beautiful and elaborate little girl costumes ever.

As a doll collector I also am anxious to get some of the new dolls.  I see they are for sale on the Disney Store website and was going to order them today but since I live just about 8 miles from Downtown Disney I think I'll mosey on over tomorrow and buy them in person.  I'll report on my Diary of a Dollhouse blog soon.

But for now here's a look at the 2 newest Disney Princess costumes for Halloween.

Sharing My Disney Store Talking Merida Doll

The Disney move Brave is my favorite Disney movie so far.  I love that Merida is a strong willed girl that isn't interested in being married off to her handsome prince.  I love that she has relationship issues with her mother.  And most of all I love her hair.

Merida is a Medieval Scottish Princess who's mother wants to find her a proper husband.  Merida has other plans.  She's interested in archery, not men.  And the story is about the friction that develops because of their stubbornness. In present day, Merida is Disneys 11th and newest princess, crowned in the summer of 2013.

Read about Princess Merida and enjoy some photos of my 17" tall Disney Store Merida Talking Doll on my blog.

Cabbage Patch Kids Babyland Mini Halloween Dolls

I found these tiny bundles of cuteness in the Halloween candy section of Target this morning.  They are mini Cabbage Patch Kids plastic molded dolls "dressed" up in their trick or treating attire.  They even had birth certificates like their larger cousins.  Read my blog post by clicking on the link below and meet Yvette and Cristal, my kitten and witch dolls.

Meet Briar Beauty From Ever After High

Briar Beauty sees the world through Rose tinted glasses.  She will soon be napping for 100 years so she's just having as much fun as possible while she's at Ever After High.  I opened my Briar Beauty doll today and took a bunch of pictures and wrote a blog post.  I've been trying to find a new theme that loads fast on my blog and I'm not happy with what's there at the time I'm writing this but the pictures look pretty good.  She's a really pretty doll.  Check out my post and see her without her glasses.

Back to School - Monsters University Backpacks and Lunchboxes

This past summer's Monsters University movie made Sully (James P. Sullivan) and Mike Wazowski household names for kids again.  It was yet another prequel movie but very well done by Disney Pixar films.  The loveable monsters were back in college about 10 years before the setting form Monsters Inc, and were just becoming friends.

Merchandising for the movie is in full swing and kids everywhere are looking for Monsters University back to school gear.  Here are some great backpacks and lunchbags with the cutest Monsters graphics around.

Lalaloopsy Mini Dolls Series 11 Is In Stores

Series 11 of the Mini Lalaloopsy Dolls includes the 4 main Wizard of Oz characters.  Like all the other Lalaloopsy Mini dolls they are adorable and so collectible. I have to admit I haven't jumped on the bandwagon for the larger dolls but these minis are just too hard to resist.  So far I have around 20 of them, not many from the earlier series because some are hard to find and a bit expensive if you buy them from eBay or Amazon.  But you can bet I'm collecting all of the recently released characters.  Besides the Wizard of Oz dolls, there are 4 other miscellaneous dolls. Luckily I already have one of each - I haven't opened them though.  I think I want to get 2 complete sets so I can have one to play with and one to keep pristine in the box.  Here are the names - Dotty Gale Winds, Baley Sticks N Straws, Kitty B Brave, Tinny Ticker, Pickles BLT, Cloud E Sky, April Sunsplash, and Kat Jungle Roar.  You can view their pictures on my blog post.

2013 Is The 25th Anniversary Of Holiday Barbie Dolls

Collectors and doll lovers have been buying Christmas Holiday Barbies for 25 years.  The first doll was available in 1988.  I bought my first in 1989, when my daughter was born.  That doll turned out to be a play doll for her and was well loved for many years.  Holiday Barbies are still very affordable and fun to collect.  The gowns are so detailed.  Even the older versions are still easily found still in the original box.  The prices are a bit higher but you can still find deals on eBay.  Especially if you search outside of the Christmas season.

The new Holiday Barbie is now on the shelves and for sale online.  She's a silver snow princess with gorgeous high fashion jewelry.  You can read about her on my Diary of A Dollhouse blog.  Just click the link below.

Raven Queen Doll From Ever After High

Raven Queen is one of the Rebel fairy tale girls at Ever After High.  She's not quite ready to become an Evil Queen like her mother yet.  In the story she's thinking about her dismal life as a classic hated character and not feeling it.

Raven is a beautiful doll. Lavender eyes and plum and black hair.  Her outfit and accessories have details of a Raven bird.  And she's got the same articulation as Monster High dolls so she poses easily.  I'm amazed at the creativity and quality of modern play fashion dolls nowadays.  Love collecting them.  Read all about Raven  Queen on my blog by clicking the link below.

I chose the Marina Anchors version but there are several others available including Crumbs Sugar Cookie, Bea Spells a Lot, and Tippy Tumbelina.  The beads are lovely candy colors and you get a Lalabead head and pet charm.  These are inexpensive and will make adorable stocking stuffers this Christmas. Catty Noir Werecat Monster High Doll

Catty Noir has a release date of September 13, 2013 because it falls on a Friday and she's very superstitious.  But it appears a lot of toy stores couldn't wait to get her on the shelves.  I bought her today and brought her home to free her from her bindings.  She's a beautiful black Werecat, the 5th in the Monster High line so far. And she's a singing superstar with a glitzy glam outfit and accessories.  Read my review of Catty Noir from Monster High on my blog!  Just click the link below.

My Beach Cottage Dollhouse

Found this dollhouse on Craigslist yesterday and thought it was so stinkin cute I had to run out and buy it.  It's going to be my dollies vacation getaway at the beach. The interior is dark right now but I'm going to paint it bright beachy colors and furnish it like a little weekend getaway.  I can't wait to get started.  Got my coupons for Michaels and am going for paint and flooring tomorrow.  Look at some more photos on my Diary of a Dollhouse Blog.
